The Spice Coast Challenge -Tour of Honourride is a self-directed, a season long ride to MTA’s accredited memorials, monuments, heritage sites, forts and museum around the beautiful God’s Own Country. Beginning on 1stJanuary 2019, to ride as many accredited locationsyou want, with any route you choose. The Spice Coast Challenge is designed by LD Riders to appeal to novice riders and those with multiday experience. This isn’t race, as it’s all about planning an efficient route, collecting the evidence required and coming back safe and sound.This truly is one of the most exhilarating motorcycle challenges in the world!
The following rules, tips and miscellaneous information are designed to the rider with the amount of background material necessary to commence the event. Information contained is deemed to be crucial. Prior to the commencement of the challenge, each rider will sign a certification to the effect that said rules have been read and understood.
- A safe ride should be your primary goal.
- Ride at your discretion, as many miles as you can between 1stJanuary 2019 and 15stDecember 2019.
- The Spice Coast Challenge can be run during your regular commute, weekend trips, or during other long distance events.
- Visit many selected MTA’s locations as you want, with whatever route you choose, between 1stJanuary 2019 and 15stDecember 2019.
- Visit minimum 150 MTA’s Locations to receive a finisher’s certificate, patch & lapel-pin.
- Keep all your receipts along the way.
- Record your starting mileage 1stJanuary 2019.
- Simply document your starting mileage any time after 12:01 AM IST 1stJan 2019 by obtaining a dated gas receipt.
- Any documented miles ridden by the rider during these dates will count.
- Your ride starts from the location of your first computer generated receipt (preferably fuel).
- TheFirst/Startor Final/Endreceipt must have correct DATE and TIME.
- Write your Odometer Reading on all gas receipts / other receipts.
- Place gas receipts / other receipts next to your odometer where BOTH are visible and take pic of odometer and post it on the MTA Facebook page.
- The computer time stamp on your First/Start receipt will be your Official Starting Location and Time.
- The computer time stamp on your Final/End receipt will be your Official Ending Location and Time.
- Get your last gas receipt and mileage before 11:59 PM IST December 15th2019.
- Submit all your receipts, photographs, log sheets and other evidence of the Challenge before 11:59 PM IST 20thDecember 2019.
- Any items received after 20thDecember 2019 will not count towards awards.
- KEEP ALL RECORDS! Riders are responsible for keeping copies of their starting and ending mileage receipts.
- Photograph your Rally Flag, Motorcycle and accredited locations together. Photos should be clear and recognisable.
- If the motorcycle can’t fit in the photo because of restricted access, or any other reason you must submit 2 Photos: one with the rally Flag and accredited location and a second one of your Rally Flag and motorcycle as close to the location as possible.
- Not all Locations are accessible 24/7. If a location is unavailable due to maintenance, road closure, or other circumstances beyond your control, take a photo of your Rally Flag and motorcycle at the nearest access point, preferably with a sign mentioning the Location.
- Photograph when riding a Passenger (Pillion), photos must include with MTA Rally Flags.
- If you find someone else’s Rally Flag behind, leave it there, a rider may be on their way back for it. If you lose one, let us know at (email Id) and another one will be mailed for a ₹500 fee. A facsimile of your Rally Flag (ask us for one) can be used until you receive the replacement.
